The success of Consar, is one of the most impressive achievements of the African continent, linked to the Stefano Ramella Pezza, who in 2002 was named Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. Born in Biella, Stefano falls in love with Africa through the stories of his maternal grandfather, Giovanni Foscale, who had lived in Congo in the forties.
When he came to know that technicians were being required in Ghana he decided to take off at only nineteen, with a basic knowledge of English and a very small budget. His very first encounter with the new continent was quite traumatic, but Stefao did not give up and in 1983, together with his wife Anna, founded Consar (Construction Stefano Anna Ramella), now a pioneer in the construction sector known as ( Consar Limited). Over decades, the company has developed major projects such as airports (in Kumasi, Obuasi, Takoradi and Tamale), schools, hospitals, hotels and sports facilities.
One major accomplishment is the renovation of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi (Ghana), a modern and innovative structure with 60,000 seats selected as the venue to host the matches of the African Cup of Nations in 2008.
